Air Power Tools Review

Air power tools, otherwise known as pneumatic power tools are ones that are powered with air, either compressed CO2 or a gas compressor.  Usually air power tools are less expensive to purchase initially than other forms of power tools such as electric or cordless, but are not as common for many types of work as compared with electric or cordless tools.

For years, air power tools were only used by professional tradespeople in a shop setting as they were not very portable.  Who wants to carry around a large air tank or tank of compressed gas to every job site.  Homeowners were equally as hesitant to use air power tools as they often thought the tools were more complicated.  Most homeowners gravitated toward cordless power tools and contractors and tradespeople that are on the go also used cordless or electric power tools.

It's unfortunate that air power tools do not get the same consideration as other types of tools cordless power tool and give them the same job to do, the air power tool will be quite capable of the same task, but with two extra benefits.  The first benefit is that because it has no moving parts, it does not produce a spark.  This is especially helpful in areas where flammable materials are present and spark could easily start a fire or cause an explosion.  The other benefit to air power tools is their size.  Again, because they have no motor and do not have a lot of parts, they have a small size.  The small size is especially helpful when it's necessary to use the tool for prolonged periods of time.  Often bulky, heavy tools cause fatigue in the arms and hands and air power tools certainly can help in this respect.

As mentioned above, in order to use air power tools, you will need a source of air. One of the easiest and least expensive ways of doing this would be to purchase an air compressor or an air storage tank.  Either is fairly inexpensive and allows you to have air available when needed.  If there is electricity available, you can always plug in an air compressor, however if electricity is not available, an air storage tank will be helpful.  At some job sites it is quite possible that electricity is not available and you would need more than one tank of air to get the job done.  In this case, having a gas powered air compressor would be most practical.

Overall, it's worth giving air power tools a second look if you have not used them in the past.  They provide more than enough power to get the job done and are economical to use.  You will enjoy their small, light size and also their reliability.  Since you are not dealing with a lot of moving parts or electric motors, air tools are very durable.
since they pack plenty of power for the job.  If you take an air power tool and an electric or
